TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently teach K-4 Visual Art at Wilson Borough Elementary School in Easton, PA. Prior to working with my Wilson Warriors I taught Secondary Visual Art in Western NY and PA. I have also shared my artistic skills outside of public education, teaching workshops, summer camps, and after school programs at The Cleveland Institute of Art, The Rochester Weaver's Guild, The Livingston Arts Center, Dunkirk Camp and Conference Center, and The Baum School of Art.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I'm a question asker. A resource connector. A never-will-draw-on-your-paper demo giver. A willing-to-let-the-student-get-a-little-angry motivator, because in the end they will be proud (and hopefully forgive me). I'm a traditional-skills-first, but I-love-me-some-conceptual-art-too teacher. And like all good teachers, I am always a student.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Getting laid off constantly and continuing to get back up. Can I hear an Amen?

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art in 2006 with a BFA in Fiber and Material Studies and went on to earn an MA in Art Education in 2008 from Case Western Reserve University in conjunction with the Cleveland Institute of Art. I have been certified to teach in OH, NY, and currently hold my Level 1 certificate in PA.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I live in Easton PA with my husband Carl, a Senior Toy Designer for Crayola. We collaborate on one very special work of art everyday...our daughter Andi!
