TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught French & German for over 20 years as well as using my language skills in the business world. I work with native-speaking Spanish & Italian teachers for products in those languages.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like hands-on activities and keeping students engaged through oral practice by circulating and speaking to a variety of partners while filling in a chart with their replies, vocab & grammar games at the board or with a partner at desks, and doing in-class projects that allow learners of all types to shine. Whenever a competition is involved, I find that student interest skyrockets !

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society; Gifted & Talented Certification ~ ~ ~ The AATG's 'Die Unterrichtspraxis' has published two of my articles on classroom activities ~ 'Writing Across the Curriculum for November Holidays', Spring Issue 2003 and 'Christmas Activity: Create An Advent Calendar', Spring Issue 1992.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

B. S. in Ed. cum laude in French & Russian ~~~ M.A. in German

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I worked in France & Germany for ten years to perfect my language skills. Most of my products have been proofread by native speakers of the language. I work with native-speaking Italian & Spanish teachers for those products. I've also had the opportunity to travel on four of the seven continents and have found that it is true ~ ~ ~ Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.
