Carolee Dean, Founder of Word Travel LLC has twenty years of experience working with early childhood, preschool, elementary, middle school, and high school students as a speech-language pathologist. She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and is a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) member of the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA) serving students with dyslexia and other reading-related disorders. She is a past president of the Southwest Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. She is the author of STORY FRAMES FOR TEACHING LITERACY: ENHANCING STUDENT LEARNING THROUGH THE POWER OF STORYTELLING (Brookes Publishing, 2021). Her novels include: COMFORT (Houghton Mifflin) TAKE ME THERE (Simon and Schuster) FORGET ME NOT (Simon and Schuster).
Carolee Dean is an award-winning author of young adult fiction. She combines her two loves (education and writing) to focus her therapy strategies on using books and stories to address a plethora of speech/language and classroom learning objectives.
