Carolee Dean, Founder of Word Travel Press LLC is a speech-language pathologist (SLP) and Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) with twenty years of experience in the public schools She is the author of STORY FRAMES FOR TEACHING LITERACY: ENHANCING STUDENT LEARNING THROUGH THE POWER OF STORYTELLING (Brookes Publishing, 2021). She is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA) serving students with dyslexia and other reading-related disorders. She is a past president of the Southwest Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. Her fiction novels include: COMFORT (Houghton Mifflin) TAKE ME THERE (Simon and Schuster) FORGET ME NOT (Simon and Schuster).
Carolee Dean is an award-winning author of young adult fiction. She combines her two loves (education and writing) to focus her therapy strategies on using books and stories to address speech/language and literacy objectives.

Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy (1985) from West Texas State A&M University, Master of Science in Communicative Disorders (1996) from the University of New Mexico.
Carolee Dean, Founder of Word Travel Press is a frequent presenter at state, local, national and international conference such as the annual ASHA and IDA conferences. She has made author/poet visits to elementary, middle and high schools and has conducted writing workshops for students and adults of all ages.
