10 years Experience in China and Taiwan ESL. #CarouselTeachersProject
I create a student centered classroom. Teacher talk time is kept to a minimum. The students use group work and peer correction to explore their content. I set an expectation for excellence. Students are expected to strive to the limits of their ability, and ask questions along the way. I reward them with kind words and treats. And when they take chances, in turn making mistakes, I let them know constantly, they are on the right track. I want to share with you, so always 2 for 1.

Every important lesson in life can be learned by standing in a cold mountain stream, stalking trout with a rod and artificial flies; or in the successful execution of a moderately complex French dish; or perhaps in the adherence and loyalty to a particular personal relationship. Focusing on the task at hand and realizing it has as much or as little importance as all the other events in your life, has helped me enjoy this ride, of education and life. I have a reputation among colleagues, parents and students as the strictest teacher in my program. I also play the most movies and give away the most treats. The students feel my love and I tell them I love them, often. I came to realize, that my expectation of them for excellence, was also an expectation of myself. In this way, I keep reaching and keep pushing, to the limits of my abilities. I hope you may find the joy and passion in your life; and your teaching may reflect the light inside you, as it has begun for me.
