I have been a teacher since 2001. The time has flown, & I can hardly believe it! Most of my teaching career has been spent teaching Kindergarten and first grade, but I have spent a year as a 3-5 reading instructor and one harrowing year in 7th grade. While I did enjoy my time in the upper grades, I love the little ones the best!

I believe that the best teaching occurs when teachers and students enjoy what they are doing, are inspired to dig a little deeper, and students are engaged even when {or especially} when they are working independently.

I love having fun with my students. Most of my teaching is through hands-on activities that sneak in the learning when my students think they are simply having fun. I believe that the best teaching is layered {or thematic} where students are engaged in 1 activity that covers many standards and maximizes the time spent in the classroom.

I also believe that organization up front is key to a happy teacher's successful year. A lot is asked of teachers on a daily basis and keeping all those balls in the air can be an impossible task without an organized plan. If I can organize my teaching, goals, and student strategies in advance I will, and then I'll be way less stressed out later.

My resources focus on layered teaching, keeping organized, taming the paperwork clutter, and having a little fun while teaching rigorous content.

I want to support you on your teaching journey and love requests through the Q&A tab in my shop or on my blog where I have an easy to use contact form for requests, questions, or problems you have you would like me to help you solve.

I have a BA in clinical psychology from the University of Connecticut, and a MAT in elementary education from Sacred Heart University.

Funny little side note about me. While I was a psychology student I spent 3 1/2 years working as a research assistant int he psychology department where I learned to be a hypnotist... and no I don't do parties... any more.
