TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Teaching has been a passion of mine for the last ten years. My first two years I was a k-2nd grade gym teacher and then moved into the classroom at an independent catholic school in Chicago. It was there that I taught 3rd grade for 7 years. I am currently teaching at an episcopal school in Paradise Valley, Arizona.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Through my experiences as a teacher, I have learned the importance of treating each child as a unique learner, honoring their different backgrounds and needs. When designing instruction for my students, it is essential that the goal of the lesson is implemented using appropriate strategies in order to ensure that all students have an opportunity to learn. As a teacher, I honor multiple learning styles in my lessons by delivering instruction in a variety of ways and always making accommodations when needed. When looking at student achievement, I use both formal and informal assessments to make decisions about instruction. I understand the importance of gathering data and using it as an ongoing tool to guide instruction, measure student achievement, and identify specific strengths and weaknesses of each student. I am committed to providing a quality education to each of my students.
