TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a writing tutor at San Diego State University and a teaching assistant with AmeriCorps. I will be graduating with two BAs in December 2015. I will then be working towards a Master's degree in Women's Studies with the intention of ultimately obtaining a PhD in American Indian Studies with an emphasis in Literature.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Students come into classrooms and writing centers with their own beliefs, experiences, and ideas. Culture, gender, religion, class, and sexual orientation all play pivotal roles in understanding where students are coming from and what we as educators need to provide to them to facilitate compassion, empathy, and learning.
