ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Cecile Wren was the principal at Jericho Middle School, Long Island, New York for eight years and worked collaboratively with her staff to design and implement a resilient middle school that articulated a clear vision. This vision integrated emotional literacy competencies and research-based best practices in order to meet the social, emotional, ethical, and academic needs of their students. Currently Cecile Wren does educational consulting, administrative retreats, teacher training, and online instruction. She customizes programs for school districts that focus on district/school reorganization efforts, middle level education initiatives, social and emotional literacy programs, anti-bulling programs, and the Dignity for All Students Act. Cecile is a certified test administrator and coach for the Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT) coordinated through Yale University. The MSCEIT is a skills-based assessment that is an excellent resource tool for adults who want to utilize emotional literacy both in their personal and professional lives. Additionally, Cecile was a senior faculty member at the Center for Social and Emotional Education, a senior coach for the Academy of Educational Development, and an administrative mentor for Eastern Suffolk and Southern Westchester BOCES.
