I graduated with a bachelors in Education from the University of Northern Colorado at the Center for Urban Education. At this University they give you the opportunity to work as a para-educator in the morning then go to class in the afternoon. I worked as a para in a ELA-S (Spanish speaking class) classroom for 3 years in pre-k to first grade. I did my student teaching in a ELA- E (English classroom). After I finished my student teaching, I got a job as a Multi-Intensive Special Education para-educator. When the school year was over, I got a job as a first grade teacher. I am currently going to begin my second year teaching first grade.
I have a relaxed, and organized style of teaching. I try to find ways to make my students as independent as possible. My room is set up in a way for students to access anything they need. I try to incorporate as many smartboard, hand-ons, and crafts as they learn. I love making teaching meaningful and engaging!
