TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am a special education teacher in a resource room setting. I work with Itinerant Learning Support students on English and Social Studies as well as with writing skills, executive functioning skills, and MORE! This is my first year as a full time teacher and I am finding myself making a good deal of my own materials to best serve my students' needs. All through college I ran a tutoring program to help students better their reading and writing skills and developed all of my own materials. During student teaching I had a next to nothing budget (after being married 2 weeks before starting to teach!) and needed to make all of my own supplies and worksheets. I have been a self-sufficient supply teacher since Day 1 and am happy to share my work!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I tend to enjoy working with hands on learning experiences. I also enjoy integrating a number of different learning styles into my teaching to best suit the needs of my learners.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a B.S. in Secondary Education and a B.A. in English. I also obtained Instructional 1 certifications from the state of Pennsylvania in Special Education 7-12, and English 7-12.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a first year teacher and wife with a very limited budget! I love making things and am often crafting and creating something instead of just going out and buying it. I have a passion for education and truly believe that it has the power to change lives. Hopefully these resources will help you to get your students one step closer to understanding and change.
