TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for thirteen years. I began my career teaching 2nd grade in a small, rural school with approximately 100 students school-wide. After one year, a position opened up in my hometown, where I have been ever since.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I strive to make school a place where children want to be. Because of that, my room is called Smileyville and I emphasize fun activities whenever possible. I implement a variety of techniques into my teaching, including Whole Brain Teaching, the Four Blocks Literacy model, and the Eight Habits of Highly Successful Leaders.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Best Teacher - People's Choice Award, an award given by our local newspaper (2007)

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

1998 - Associates Degree 2000 - BS in elementary education 2012 - MS in educational administration

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been teaching for thirteen years... 9 years in second grade, and 4 in third grade. In addition to my teaching career, I have a cat and two frogs that keep me quite busy. I am also the biggest fan of Amy Grant you will ever meet. I promise. :)
