I have been blessed with teaching different grade levels and subjects for almost ten years.
I use the curriculum that the district requires teachers to use. In conjunction, I add my own teaching materials to my lessons to make the classroom come alive. Real world experiences are a must if a student is expected to retain what was taught.
The most important award or honor to me comes from my students and their parents. Their heartfelt thank yous and written letters of gratitude to my teaching service is what matters the most to me. There is no other honor or award that I could receive in my career that would make me feel the way that I do when I hear compliments and spoken words of appreciation from the children and their families on having helped the students master math state and non-state assessments.
I received a Bachelor's Degree in English, a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a minor in Special Education, and am currently working on a Doctoral degree in Early Childhood Education at Concordia Univeristy.
I believe that a teacher at heart can help any student learn.
