My experience ranges from volunteering at pre-k programs to being the instructional leader for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes. I have participated in Harvard's World Wide course for three years by taking wonderful classes that have given me a variety of strategies and ideas to reach inner city minority children. The classes were Differentiated Instruction, Teaching for Understanding , and Reading in the Content Areas. I have five years experience of training and using Balanced Literacy as my main instrucitonal tool which all of my children love from year to year. I now teach ACT Prep.
My teaching style is mainly student-centered and focused around Balanced Literacy and meeting the needs of all of my students through the use of data.
