Currently, Caroline is working at an international school In Germany. In years past she has taught everything from Grade 1 through Grade 5 as well as a combination grade 1-2 class. Caroline loves hands-on learning which involves deep thinking. She believes that students learn best when the questions surrounding their learning excite them and when their curiosity is sparked. Caroline has taught all subject areas and delights in bringing learning to life for her students. She particularly enjoys creating a strong home school connection with the families at her school through numerous home study projects.
An experienced and passionate educator with the knowledge, skills, and understanding of a range of learning styles, education is personalized to help each individual meet their full potential. Enthusiastic about international education, hands-on learning is met with real world experiences as students are transported beyond the classroom to learn about the vast world around them. Holding the belief that character development should be taught along with high-level academics, students are celebrated for their unique gifts and the classroom works in synergy as students learn to collaborate, cooperate and appreciate their contributions to the classroom. An avid International traveler, Caroline knows from first-hand experience that understanding the planet can make a world of difference in a child and that each child can make a difference in the world.

Caroline grew up in Northern California playing teacher to a full class of teddy bears and dolls. Before moving to San Diego to attend University of California San Diego she lifeguard, taught swim lessons and ran her own Annual Summer Camp. At the University of California San Diego, she double-majored in Communications and Political Science and she found her true calling to be in education. While attending college classes, Caroline taught swim lesson, served as a Resident Advisor, planned Freshman Orientation, taught preschool and volunteered at the neighborhood Boys and Girls Club. It was during her interaction with children that she felt most alive and without looking back she decided to earn her Masters in Education and become an elementary school teacher. Currently, she living out her childhood dream teaching 1st grade!
When Caroline is not teaching she can be found exploring the world and her neighborhood. At every chance, she gets she loves to travel and she spent 2012 exploring South East Asia, Death Valley, the Bahamas, and Hawaii. Caroline loves to bring her global interest into the classroom and has created an International program in which students gain a wider cultural perspective. Caroline is also passionate about the environment and helps with local beach clean-ups in her community. She enjoys crafting and creating a curriculum that brings global awareness to her students. Recently she led a Winter Holiday’s celebration for the 140 students at her school; during the celebration, students traveled with passports from country to country learning about the traditions celebrated in each nation. An avid yogi and rock climber, Caroline practices mindfulness and loves to learn wherever she may be.
