TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have a Masters of Elementary Education. This marks my 14th year teaching! I have taught 3-5 grades. The first 7 years I taught as a looping teacher in the intermediate grades. The last seven years I have been a 3rd grade teacher in a self contained class in a PLC school. I am a Reading specialist and pace and plan reading/language arts for our entire (6teacher team). I have helped switch our curriculum in reading to the common core within the last year. I have also planned skill based lessons that fit the TEAM Rubric.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe in this high stakes atmosphere our children learn that education must be exciting, engaging, and enjoyable. I love my students and strive to make learning fun. It helps create an atmosphere of life long learning. I use numerous high order thinking task cards, interactive notebooks, power points, and flip charts. I try to keep activities varied and exciting.
