Cheryl has been an intervention specialist in grades pre-K, K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Her focus in the past 5 years has been 2nd grade. Jen has been a general education classroom teacher in grades 1 and 2, with the past 11 years in 2nd grade.
Cheryl and Jen have been able to co-teach in 2nd grade for the past 5 years. They teach in a district that is dedicated to inclusion based learning. They firmly believe that this method of co-teaching benefits ALL students (special needs and general education students alike). Co-teaching also has helped them to form a strong partnership which enables them to develop differentiated instruction that meets the educational needs of their class.
Both Cheryl and Jen were named Master Teachers in their district in 2009.
Cheryl graduated with her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Cincinnati. She followed this with a master's degree in education with an emphasis in reading from UC. Jen graduated with her bachelor's degree in education from Ohio University. She followed this with a master's degree in Education Administration from Xavier University.
Cheryl is blessed with 3 adult children and 4 grandsons...and is still waiting for a granddaughter! Jen is blessed with preschool age twins who keep her life very busy.
