TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I’m blessed to teach in the community where I was born and raised. I currently teach 1st grade at Garden Ridge Elementary in Comal ISD. My 26 years of teaching experience include 19 years in Kindergarten, 3 years in Pre-1st, and 4 years in 1st grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

As a classroom teacher, I believe parents and teachers should work together as partners to help children be successful! I hope to instill a love of learning and create a hands-on environment where children feel confident and free to take risks. It’s not always the end product, but the process where the real learning takes place. I encourage my students to be like the little blue engine with an “I think I can” attitude!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was recognized for 10 years of teaching in Judson ISD. I've received recognition for 5 and 10 years of teaching in Comal ISD.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a Kindergarten endorsement from Angelo State University.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 26 years. We have a daughter who just recently married and a son who is a sophomore at Canyon High School. Collecting Mickey Mouse and Disney memorabilia is fun for me. In my free time, I enjoy taking pictures, baking cookies, and watching movies. Most of all, I love spending time with my family!
