Chickie Bean is Jenna Gareis, a 2015 Outstanding Educator of the Year and Doctoral Candidate in Education. She has sixteen years of teaching experience on two continents. I have taught in Zhengzhou, Lhasa, Mussoorie, Portland, and Bradenton, as well as leading relief teams to West Africa, Nepal, India, and Tibet. Spending five years at a nearly 200 year old international boarding school in the Himalayan foothills of Northern India among a diverse religious, cultural and socio-economic community has had a great influence on my life, spiritual development, and instructional style - as has my most recent position teaching literature at a sports training academy in Florida.
