TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching in a self contained special education program within a public middle school since 2010. The program services students with emotional and behavioral disorders. I instruct a mainstream curriculum to students in grades 6-8. Subjects taught include: 6th grade Social Studies 7th grade World History 8th grade US History 6th grade Language Arts 8th grade English

MY TEACHING STYLE

Teaching special education students has had a great influence on my teaching style. My students learn best when they are interested in the subject at hand. I try to inspire interest and curiosity in my students in order to motivate them to learn. This is often done with inquisitive questions and activities designed to keep my students thinking and making predictions about what will happen next.
