I am in my 20th year of teaching elementary school in a rural county. Before then, I taught an exploratory class, as well as an at-risk writing class for middle school. I am currently an elementary Library Media Specialist, servicing PK/special needs - 5th grade!
I like for my students to be engaged learners, so we use a lot of manipulatives and simulations, when possible! I often teach students with learning difficulties, as well as attentional issues, so often my products are geared towards those students! I am also a mother to a child with ADHD/anxiety, so I feel that adds more understanding on where my students are coming from!
Teacher of the Year Nominee Employee of the Month (November 2014)
I earned a Bachelor of Science in Education/Psychology and a Master's Degree (MS). I am licensed to teach NK-8 in General Education and K-12 in Library Media Science.
I am a mother of two - a boy and a girl. Through them, as well as my students, I feel that I become a better teacher, especially when I can put myself in their shoes! I also have a teacher's blog filled with ideas, links, and freebies: please come visit me! www.adventuresn2grade.blogspot.com
