TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I student taught 8th grade Math and Science at Norton Middle School in Norton, Ohio. Once I graduated, I became a Title I Tutor for Akron Public Schools in Akron, Ohio. I have tutored at Roswell Kent, a "normal" inner city middle school, Bridges, which specializes in working with students who have IEP's and severe behavior issues, and Akron Opportunity Center, which specializes in students who have severe behavior issues with no IEP. Three years ago, I acquired a full time teaching position with Akron Opportunity Center, and have taught one year of 6th grade math and social studies, and am on my second year of teaching 7th grade math and science.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style changes often, depending on the needs of my students. I prefer to use technology and have the students very involved, but with the severe behaviors in my classroom, that is not always possible. So, I also always have worksheets ready.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I have a Bachelor of Science in Middle Level Education from the University of Akron in Akron, Ohio.

I am a proud mother of two, and am happy to be a wife to my loving and supportive husband. I love teaching middle level math and science, but I also teach my first love, dance, when I have some free time. I am hoping to spread my passion for math and science a little further here!
