TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently teach fourth grade at a Title I elementary school in North Carolina. I've also taught fourth grade writing at this school. I previously taught grades K-5 in Computer Literacy and the Enrichment program for gifted students; taught all subjects K-12 at Sylvan Learning Center. I've also worked for McGraw-Hill as a scorer of standardized testing.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I like my students to do hands-on activities. I think it is beneficial for them to be applying the skills they are learning through activities and projects so that they may see why these skills are important and how they will be used in the real world. My students seem to most enjoy doing science experiments and being able to show them to their family at home. We do lots of arts and crafts so that the students have something that allows them to demonstrate their understanding and abilities.
