I am in my 33rd year as a Speech Language Therapist. I have taught in the public schools and have worked with regular and special education children. I have worked with children preschool age to high school, however a majority of my time has been spent working with elementary age children. My experience has been teaching sound production, expressive and receptive language skills.
I adjust my teaching styles to each individual I work with. I am all about connecting to the child's classroom or environment. The importance of communication cannot be stressed enough. I go for FUN because kids can have fun and learn at the same time!
I have been rewarded many times over...I love watching children "bloom!"
I hold a Bachelor of Science degree which certifies me to work as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped. I received this degree in 1981. I also hold a Master of Arts degree in Special Education. This was received in 1984. Both degrees were earned at the State University of New York at Geneseo.
I was born and raised in a small town in Northern New York. I am married and have 2 children. Our pet is a chocolate lab named Suki. Like my Facebook Page. http://www.facebook.com/MrsJonesSpeechRoom
