TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am entering my 3rd year as a 7th grade world cultures teacher. I graduated from Towson University in 2012, and currently working on my Master's in Instructional System Development. I have developed a classroom management program that works in Title 1 school demographics and created lessons based on Universal Design for Learning/Student-Centered learning.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am passionate in designing lessons using the Universal Design for Learning guidelines. I believe that students should be the focus of the classroom and my role in that is to provide resources and be the facilitator. The students are using their executive functions to monitor their behavior in my classroom and held to the highest standards possible. I am going to be experimenting with a few new things this year. In order to create more of a personalized education, students are going to be able to choose from various topics in a learning goal unit and go through various stations in order to learn about it. They will be pre and post tested in those stations, within a given time frame.
