My professional experience includes teaching grades 3 through 5 and substitute teaching from Kindergarten through 6th grade. I have taught in buildings that qualify as Title 1 and currently teach in a 103 year-old LAP school. I am an Educational Technology instructor for my district where I provide professional development on many different forms of technology from basics to skills for high-level users. Prior to becoming a classroom teacher, I worked as an assistant school secretary and invested in my own children as a classroom parent volunteer.
My teaching style reflects my absolute belief that all children can be successful in school with high levels of achievement. I bring direct experience with children and curriculum to all of my recommended classroom teacher resources. I love challenging little brains with standards-based teaching materials...and having some fun at the same time!
I have attended the Mickelson ExxonMobil Teaching Academy for Science and Math, been a national finalist at the Microsoft Innovative Education Forum and been awarded an Enhancing Education through Technology Grant multiple times. I am currently part of a Peer Coaching iPad Integration Pilot program for my district.
I hold a Masters in Elementary Education & Teacher Certification from Eastern Washington University and I have earned my National Board Certification.
I love teaching, but more than that, I love effective teaching strategies. The right teacher resources in the hands of a dedicated educator are what allows us to really impact elementary students' lives for the better each and every day. These are the things that I love sharing with you on my website, www.ClassroomCaboodle.com
