TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been in the education field for the past 19 years with a variety of roles including Head Start substitute, teacher aide and teacher, Early Reading First literacy advocate, Elementary Education and Administrative Assistant. Education is where my heart has been for many years. I finally earned my BA in Elementary Education in 2013 and I currently teach 2nd grade. There is no place that I'd rather be. To know that I made a difference in even one child's life, means more to me than all the riches of the world.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a teacher that believes all children need to be given a variety of opportunities to learn new material. I use photography, SMART Boards, iPads, digital flashcards, computers, the internet, Apple TV and hands on activities, including science experiments, to provide my students with the best possible learning experiences. Although, I still use traditional worksheets and textbooks, sometimes we'll just go outside with clipboards to do a lesson. I love to give my students the chance to help each other. My classroom is very colorful and full of resources. I maintain structure and discipline, while providing fun activities that engage children in learning.
