TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been an elementary educator for 16 years in both public and private schools. I've taught 2nd-5th grade and I currently teach reading/grammar/writing/spelling to all of the 4th and 5th graders at our school.

MY TEACHING STYLE

It's not quiet in my classroom! It is the "norm" to see me buzzing around my room dressed as the Spelling Bee or to see students moving around the room or standing in chairs singing into telephones about prepositions. I love student guided discussions and assessments. I expect excitement when my students are learning!

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

B.S. in Elementary/Early Childhood Education M.S. in Reading/Writing/Literature

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

In addition to being a teacher, I am the mother of 2 boys. I'm a terrible baker but an excellent cook, I love filling out forms and addressing envelopes. I'm never satisfied with something that is just okay, I want to be outstanding. I'm not a fan of doing things because that's the way it's always been done. In fact, that drives me to evaluate and improve and change. I love leading staff development and growing in my craft!
