The documentary "Nightmare in Jamestown" is a fairly base level 45-50 minute documentary (found all over online.) Surprisingly, students have seemed to like it. For the more serious students, the video and this worksheet probably doesn't cut it.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently in my seventh year of teaching. I teach American History and Civics, and have also taught World History in the past.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I run a reading intensive classroom! Ok, I admit it...some may even say I have somewhat of an old-fashioned teaching style, but I simply believe that there is so much content in history, that direct instruction is a must. A day in the life of my class usually consists of some limited notes, some reading analysis (sometimes done publicly, sometimes individually, and sometimes collaboratively,) discussion and/or debate, and usually some sort of interactive review.
