Currently, I am an instructional coach of ELA and social studies at two intermediate schools in League City, TX. Prior to being an instructional coach, I taught and coached athletics for five years at Bayside Intermediate. I have taught 6th and 7th grade ELA and also taught 8th grade ELA in summer school. Throughout my career I have also assisted in developing curriculum for 6th, 7th, and 8th grade ELA, and provided professional development for fellow educators.
I have always felt that collaboration and sharing with our students creates an environment that is conducive to growth for all. Modeling is crucial in developing learners and being open to discussion through out a lesson. My teaching style was loose but directed toward a common class goal. We were a team.
- 2012 Teacher of the Year at Bayside Intermediate - Outstanding Achievement Award made by a quiet student who found her voice through writing. She also gifted me with being her editor of her very first not-so-short short story.

I enjoy learning and teaching whether it is reading, writing, or connecting present issues to events of the past. I became a teacher because it allowed me the opportunity to create something everyday. I consider myself an apprentice of most trades and enjoy learning new skills. When I don't teach, I can typically be found enjoying the outdoors on or near the water. One day I'll buckle down and finally restore a classic car or follow through with one of my personal projects, but something new and interesting keeps distracting me.
