Taught Biology (General, PreAP, AP and IB) as well as Anatomy/Physiology for eight years in Arizona and Texas public schools. Then I spent two years teaching Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Science, World/US History, Economics & Government in Texas.

I would rather boast of my students: In Science Bowl my teams took 1st and 2nd place. In DIMSA Digital Photography I had a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner. For the Science Fair I had one partnership place 1st. In a schoolwide required Engineering Competition my homeroom class of freshman who had failed their 8th grade state science test won 2nd Place. In a SEFH Poster Contest of 4 posters submitted, 2 placed. My state test score avg. always tied for highest district score or was the highest district score and that included comparing my general students to other teacher's honor students or college-prep schools. I've had some amazing kids!!
Studied science then history getting concurrent degrees and then went back for education because I decided medical school wasn't for me. My mom followed the same path and it sounds about right that I wouldn't have learned from her experiences and had to make those realizations on my own.
Now I do the stay-at-home thing in Nebraska...and that's fun too.
