TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've enjoyed being a classroom teacher for 36 years! It never gets old! I've taught first, second, and third grade ranging from a traditional classroom, to IGE (Individually Guided Education), gifted and talented education, and International Baccalaureate - PYP (Primary Years Programme).

MY TEACHING STYLE

Eclectic best suits my style! I've never been a "program" follower, but instead, I try to fit my teaching style to the children in my classroom. I am a mix of hands-on, inquiry, and teacher guided instruction. I encourage my students to work well together and by themselves.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Golden Apple Award 2001 (IPL) for use of technology, math & science in the classroom.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana in 1976 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary & Early Childhood Education. Later, I completed my Master of Science degree from Butler University (1981) in Indianapolis, Indiana.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I enjoy creating my own materials for teaching, and I hope it is useful to others!
