I've been tutoring since college, when it started out as a volunteer opportunity. Now I do it full-time and love what I do. I tutor French and Spanish to kids and adults. I work with kids learning a language for the first time, those who need extra help with their school classes, and adults who want to learn a new skill or travel.
I use a communicative approach to get my students talking right away. I love TPRS (learning through story telling) and CI (comprehensible input). I also love mnemonics and using spaced repetition to reinforce learning.
Yet to be added
I have a degree in teaching, a minor in Spanish, and I currently am continuing studying with non-degree classes.
I grew up speaking Spanish with my Salvadorean neighbors and my best friend from Peru. Now, my stepfamily is Peruvian, and earned a minor in Spanish at university. Later, I worked in East Boston, where I spoke Spanish every day at work. I love to travel, and I have been to Budapest, Hungary to teach English, Denmark to visit family, Madrid for a cultural/linguistic experience, and Quebec to learn French. I love languages and cultures!
