I have taught almost every life science course available in secondary schools and (undergraduate) college for a decade. My speciality areas (those that I teach annually) are Human A&P I & II and Genetics. I am constantly changing my units and love creating engaging lesson plans/activities.
My classroom is very interactive and operates on the higher DOK levels. I am constantly assessing students' comprehension of the material and building on prior knowledge. I aim to incorporate at least two activities in a period and incorporate as many learning modalities as possible to reach the auditory, visual and kinesthetic students.
I have recieved school and district Star Teacher awards annually in each school/district I have worked.
I have a Master's Degree in Secondary Education and Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Human A&P. I also hold several nutrition certificates.
I am blessed to teach high school part time and teach aerobics/nutrition full time. I enjoy staying busy and leading an active, healthy lifestyle.
