I taught 6th grade science for 4 months as a maternity leave position right out of college and then was a 3rd and 4th grade art teacher as another long term substitute position. I now teach 1st and 2nd grade art, and I could not be more in love with my profession!
I have a very active classroom where the students are hands-on and consistently engaged. I try to integrate cross-curricular material as much as possible through reading books, writing, and teaching art history. I also utilize the flipped classroom model in which students watch videos of myself giving directions and showing examples of projects that will be created in class.
Dean's List (every semester throughout undergrad), Golden Key International Honor Society, Certificate of Distinction in Honor's, Keith B. Williams Psychology Merit Scholarship
I have a BA in Education, a BA in Psychology, and an Art History minor. I have teaching certifications for Elementary K-6, Middle School Science 5-8, and Art K-12. I am currently pursuing my graduate degree in Instructional Technology!
