I have 11 years of experience in education, including teaching in an inner-city high school, suburban/rual middle school, as a course developer and curriculum manager for a state-wide virtual learning program, and as a curriculum coach.
I began my career using a very didactic, teacher-centered instructional approach. Through research and experience, I realized that approach did not serve the best interests of my students. I now believe that a student-centered approach to teaching, in which my role is a facilitator of my students' learning, does much more to help my students develop the thinking, communication, and problem solving skills that they will need to be successful in life.

Both my wife and I are long-time educators in our local school district. We both have dedicated our careers, and as any teacher knows, much of our lives to serving our community through serving students.
