TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught in Minnesota and South Dakota since 1995. My experience includes preschool, half-day kindergarten, all-day, every-day kindergarten, third grade, fourth grade, and Title I reading in grades K-2. I am currently working with grades K-6 teachers as a literacy instructional coach. In my spare time, I work as a Lutheran church Education Coordinator. In this role, I develop lessons for kids in preschool through grade 6, and I often share my lessons here.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a reading and writing workshop style teacher. I am currently helping teachers implement Fountas and Pinnell Classroom in our district. I am a big fan of Fountas and Pinnell, Aimee Buckner, Katie Wood Ray, Ralph Fletcher, and The Daily Five. I also love Angela Watson's work, and believe we can work smarter. Teaching should not consume your entire life! I hope that my resources help streamline your work.
