TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have my masters degree in Early Childhood Education. I have worked in education for 20 years. I have taught in a variety of situations including an Expeditionary Learning school, inner-city school, and suburban schools. I also have a degree in commercial design and a minor in music. I like to bring my creative talents into my classroom.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that children learn through active experiences, social interactions, and individual discoveries. I like to focus on thinking, understanding, cooperative work and celebrating differences. I believe that children can achieve understanding through means which fit their own unique abilities, strengths, and pace. Each child brings a great deal of knowledge to a classroom which should be used to compliment their learning. By focusing and building on children's strengths, it is possible for children to see themselves as successful learners.
