TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Mrs. Hilton began teaching English and Spanish in 1996. She left teaching from 2001 to 2005 and worked at a local television station doing their website. In 2005, Mrs. Hilton returned to teaching because she missed it terribly. By this time, she had learned that teaching is not just something she does; it runs through her blood. It's not just her profession; it's who she is. Mrs. Hilton has also taught classes as an adjunct for a local community college. She has also taught Spanish classes for a local adult and community education program.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Mrs. Hilton graduated from the University of North Alabama cum laude in May 1991. She was recognized as the graduating senior with the highest grade point average in Spanish (4.0). She graduated with honors from Athens State in May of 1996. Despite the craziness of working full-time, rearing two young children, and producing two plays a year, Mrs. Hilton survived the Masters program at UWA and has remained mostly sane. She finished her classes at the end of July 2009 with a 3.92 grade point average. Mrs. Hilton has been inducted into the following honor societies: Phi Kappa Phi, Sigma Tau Delta, Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Sigma Iota, and Kappa Delta Pi.
