I believe that secondary students deserve proper translations of Shakespeare's plays instead of those prose transcriptions which simplify and flatten the language.

My 10% translation of "Macbeth" is a product of my own frustration in witnessing several excellent productions of Shakespeare's plays. If educated adults are overwhelmed by Shakespeare, why should students be burdened with line-by-line translation? Reading Shakespeare should be just as fluid and pleasant as reading a good translation of "The Canterbury Tales." My only qualification is my desire to accomplish something which no one else has ever attempted.
