I have a M.A. in Special Education EBD with a DC/MD Special Education teaching license and a B.S. in Communication Science and Disorders (SLP) with a NYS teaching license in Teaching Students with Speech and Language Disabilities. As an speech therapist I have taught K-2 and as a Special Education Teacher I have taught high school math at a non-public school (Statistics, Geometry, Personal Finance, Algebra I, and IEP Math). I am about to begin a new position as a 6th grade Regional Special Education Teacher in the Fall.
I enjoy having a very organized class plan with use of guided notes, group practice, and project-based learning. I use a lot of direct and differentiated instruction within small groups. I am a big fan of using task analyses when teaching new and typically difficult topics (especially in statistics).
