I have been teaching since 1991. I spent 2 years in first grade and 1 in pre-K in South Carolina. My first 4 years in Florida were spent teaching a 2nd - 3rd grade combination class. Since 2000, I have been teaching kindergarten.
I am a very energetic and hands-on teacher. My students learn quickly through music, dance, and literature. I teach reading in small groups. My morning consists of a balance between one on one reading, whole group reading, and small group rotations. Our late morning and afternoon is spent learning math through hands on interactive lessons. I teach weekly thematic units focusing on a social studies or science theme.
