I taught kindergarten for 13 years. I loved making centers for my students and team. Unfortunately back in 2017 I developed stage 4 cancer. I could no longer teach AND do treatment. So I chose to leave teaching and now use my creativity and make things others can use.
I am very hands on. Plus I like A LOT of color in my centers! I would always have my music playing for the kids when they were working. That was there way to know how to talk. If I couldn't hear the music you were to loud. : ) I really liked using centers and giving different options. Because you have kids that come to school not knowing a letter and you have kids coming to school reading a dictionary. In my units I really try to differentiate so you can reach all levels.

I went to Southlake Carroll and graduated in 2001. My how our little town with a gas station and a Dairy Queen has grown!!!! I got my Bachelors of Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of North Texas. I graduated in the fall so there were no job openings. But I didn't give up hope. I decided I would sub.
I chose the name "Cotton Candy Sweets and Other Treats" because my name is Cotton. The second year I taught I had a little boy who was obsessed with my name and cotton candy. So I named it after him. I have four dogs and am SUPER passionate about rescue. All my dogs came from the pound. But hey, one persons trash is another persons treasure! I like to spend time with my nephews and am currently tutoring the littlest one to get him ready for the BIG K in the fall... maybe.
