I am a veteran educator with 24 years of counseling experience 3 in secondary and 21 in elementary school and 6 years of classroom teaching. I retired on December 31, 2017. My new challenge is to create meaningful lessons for students so that they have the tools needed to develop into healthy, happy and contributing members of our global society. I follow the ASCA model and believe in Tier 1 prevention for all students!
I believe developing a positive relationship our students is important to their academic success. Students who feel cared for and safe will focus their energy on learning. I believe in solution focused brief counseling, where the focus is on finding a solution rather than the "why" of the problem.
A smile and a hug from a student is the best award of all!
