Simple (students learn best when teachers push against making things overly complicated), Straight forward (students learn best when they get honest feedback from their teachers), Story-based (students learn best when math is connected to the things they do in everyday life). Understanding of the fact that many people simply do not like math. Understanding of the fact that many people simply are not good at math. Understanding of the fact that these two "explanations" are not acceptable reasons for not attempting to improve.

I have loved math since elementary school. I enjoy finding math in the world around me, reading articles about mathematics in the culture, and working to explain mathematics to my students.
