MY TEACHING STYLE

I like to fully immerse students in the arts. I teach art appreciation, art history, multicultural awareness, elements and principles, various art techniques and mediums. I want my students to leave me as a well-rounded artist. I want students to understand and appreciate the background or history behind our inspirations for projects.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

H.O.P.E Award Winner/Teacher of the Year for my building 2 years running. Students have received many awards at state competition levels.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I took art lessons starting in the 2nd grade and continued to take art every year through high school. Started out as a graphic design major, and made the switch to art education after my freshman year of college. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Art and Art Education from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana.
