Prek-12th Grade Art Teacher for 2 years 2nd-12th Grade Art Teacher for 14 years Professional artist for 24 years
I strive to create an environment of creativity for my students. I work diligently to ensure that our students receive a well-rounded art education, including the elements and principles of art, coupling art history with creating art in a wide variety of media such as printmaking, sculpture, painting, mixed-media, and drawing. Students also learn how they can use their artistic skills as an act of worship to glorify God.

My name is Michelle East. As I was growing up, I watched my brother Mark Miller develop his amazing art skills. He and my great grandmother Elsie C. Patty were my inspiration to begin drawing in junior high and to eventually pursue an art career. I graduated from Hardin-Simmons University with a BA in studio art. I have worked as a graphic designer, freelance artist, and art educator. Currently, I am an art teacher for a private school and have been teaching 2nd grade- high school art for the last 14 years. I feel blessed to be in an occupation that I LOVE! Acrylic painting is my favorite medium to work in, but I also enjoy the challenges of watercolors and have been focusing on improving my skills in this medium. I was introduced to printmaking in college and fell in love with that medium as well. With printmaking, the joy comes in the process. I am drawn to realism, bright colors and pattern, these elements influence my work. I believe that the Lord Jesus has given me a talent and desire for art. It is my hearts desire that He be glorified in all I create.
