I have 9 years experience in childcare and I have worked for both Montessori and mainstream pre-schools and primary schools. I pride myself in my career. I love working with children, it is my "calling", I knew that I wanted to work with children since I was a child myself (playing teacher-teacher and babysitting).
I create lessons and complete week plans (daily) that has stimulating activities for children, from morning circle time to ending the day with a story (theme related) that I write myself! I integrate all aspects of a child's development stages into my daily planning: Social, literacy, numeracy and physical development.
Yet to be added
I am a final year student in my degree in education at the University of South Africa. I have a NQF Level 4 Certificate in Early Childhood Development.
I am a South African and my husband is Portuguese, we moved to England in May 2016. I am creative, I paint, draw, colour and do all kinds of crafts, kids love to join me with some fun crafts, painting and drawing activities and I love to inspire them and teach them different techniques. I love technology, I have taught a few children how to use photoshop and Adobe Illustrator to create amazing art pieces (even a 3 year old!!). I am passionate about my richly rewarding career and to be part of a child's development. To be in the classroom / teaching environment is a blessing, every day holds new adventures and experiences and encourages personal and professional growth. I believe in lifelong learning and feel it is absolutely vital to focus on developing new skills and learning strategies. By using my knowledge and experience my main focus is to create an inspiring environment for children where they are encouraged to establish self-confidence and self-esteem by learning responsibility in a child centred environment and encouraging social development. Children learn and develop naturally and at their own pace, therefore I find being patient helps to stay focused and organised. I focus on the process of the individual child's overall development by paying attention and encouraging social, emotional, cognitive, language and fine -and gross motor development.
