My experience includes 11 years of elementary teaching. I currently have a Special Ed license in the state of New York. In my previous position as an elementary educator for the New York Public School District 32, I developed and taught 3rd, 4th through 6th-grade math curricula. For more than three years, I have created and implemented creative Common Core-based lesson plans and students’ rubrics. Likewise, I was an afterschool teacher and an active member of the Planning Learning Community (PLC).
I embrace the theory that students learn best when they interact with their peers. Therefore, I have a student-centered approach to teaching. I implement cooperative learning opportunities to encourage students to explore, discuss information and develop a thorough understanding of how and why the information gathered is important to their lives.
Yet to be added
I have a Master degree in Special Education and a BA degree in Elementary Education.
