TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught for the past 11 years. My first 10 years of teaching were in North Carolina public schools. The first 6 years of my career were spent in middle school English Language Arts settings, where I taught 7th and 8th grade ELA, and the next 4 years were spent at Green Hope Elementary School in Cary, North Carolina where I worked as an Academically and Intellectually Gifted Teacher supporting gifted education in the K-5 classrooms. My most recent school year was the beginning of a new chapter in my life, as my husband and I moved to Washington State. I taught 7th grade ELA, once again, but next year I will be working in the same school district as the Highly Capable coordinator for the district.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style leans towards inquiry-based and project based learning.
